Carah + David Wedding – Tomball Wedding

This was an awesome wedding. I first met Carah (pronounced Sara) and David at Startbucks in Tomball and liked them right away. As I learned all the details about their Tomball wedding it sounded like they knew what they wanted and it sounded great. My wife and I then shot their engagement photos in Cypress, TX and really liked them. My wife was very disappointed that she wasn’t able to help out at their wedding and she missed an amazing wedding. It’s really hard to put this wedding into words.

When I think about it, and this may sound cliche, the one word that comes to mind is Love. I loved how they brought a little bit of themselves to every aspect of their Wedding. From their gift exchange, to the ceremony and reception. One thing the ladies did before the wedding, that I hadn’t seen in any other wedding, was they sang a few worship songs together and they all gathered around Carah and prayed for her. It was truly an amazing moment. Carah gave David a big Lego set from the Lego movie and he gave her a handmade wood box filled with a few of her favorite things, including a can of Coca Cola. At the reception the cake wasn’t a traditional cake, but about a dozen or so fancy bundt cakes and they toast was to bottles of Coca Cola. However, my favorite thing they did was during the first dances. The father daughter dance started with Carah and her dad dancing. This lasted a few minutes and then they invited every father and daughter at the wedding to join them on the dance floor. They then did the same thing for the mother son dance. It was really a very sweet touch.

Kortnee + Justin – Outdoor Montgomery Wedding

I have been really behind on blogging lately. I guess that’s a good thing because that means we’ve been very busy lately. We shot Kortnee and Justin’s wedding last November. It was a really fun wedding. The maid of honour was a hoot and her and Kortnee were two of the funnest bride/maid of honour I’ve had the honor of shooting. Everyone at this wedding was so loose and fun loving. The vows that Justin and Kortnee gave were from the heart and very unique to each ones personalities. We wish these two the best of luck in their marriage and know that it will be a fun ride.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Michelle + Brian at La Tranquila Ranch

This was my first wedding like this and I like the way it worked out for many reasons. What was so different about this one you ask? It was a two part wedding. Saturday Michelle and Brian had a nice quiet ceremony for family and closest friends and then on Sunday they had the big wedding and reception. These are the pictures from the bigger wedding at La Tranquila Ranch in Tomball, Texas. To view pictures from their smaller wedding click here.

This was my first wedding at La Tranquila Ranch. It is literally less than 10 minutes from my house and I’ve been wanting to shoot a wedding there for a while and was so happy to finally have this opportunity. First off, this wedding took place the weekend of a massive storm so at the last minute it had to be moved inside. I love outdoor weddings, but this indoor one was great as well. The decorations were beautiful! To me the highlight of this wedding was the grooms cake. I’ve seen a lot of awesome grooms cakes, but to me this was my favorite one. It was a Ghost Busters one of the Stay-puff Marshmallow man. The coolest thing was that the car and the figurines around it were actually from Brian’s childhood toys.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Michelle + Brian at St. Maximilian Kolbe

This was my first wedding like this and I like the way it worked out for many reasons. What was so different about this one you ask? It was a two part wedding. Saturday Michelle and Brian had a nice quiet ceremony for family and closest friends and then on Sunday they had the big wedding and reception. These are the pictures from the smaller more intimate intimate wedding at St. Maximilian Kolbe in Houston, Texas. To see the picture from the larger wedding click here.

The Church has 2 different chapels and they used the smaller one. The priest said something that stuck with me. He said “We haven’t done a wedding in this chapel in probably over a year. I forgot how nice and beautiful weddings are in this Chapel!”. Big weddings are wonderful but sometimes some of the best things happen at these smaller weddings. These are the types of weddings where you remember everyone there and get to spend a few minutes with each of them, which is very special. The old Cheers theme song comes to mind with a wedding like this, “Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name” and that’s what you get with a wedding like this.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Autumn + Jono Wedding

I know I’ve said it before but the most expensive weddings are not always the best and this wedding proves that. Sometimes when you talk to a bride and groom and they say that they have a very small budget it can be a little scary. But, when they know where to spend the money and where to not spend the money then you can get a beautiful elegant wedding like this one. As beautiful as the wedding was, my favorite part was their first look at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. The schedule we setup for the Autumn and Jono worked out perfectly and allowed us to get all of these wonderful shots at the gardens. Autumn and Jono are two wonderful people who really have a good handle on their future. They are getting ready to move to Wyoming to help start up a new Church. I know their friends and family are so proud of them for this path that God is leading them on. One day, after they start a family, maybe we can go visit them in Wyoming and take picture of their family at their thriving Church. I hear it’s a beautiful picturesque place.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Devin + Chase Wedding

This was a wedding I’d been looking forward to for a long time and it surely didn’t disappoint. People in other parts of the country probably think that as a Houston Wedding photographer most of our weddings are country, but if you are from here you know this isn’t the case.Devin has been a family friend for so long we consider her family. I even remember the day she met Chase. He was visiting our church with his band for VBS and she noticed him right away and was smitten by him. Their relationship blossomed, he proposed and the rest is history. Their wedding was beautiful and truly one of a kind. The wedding was actually in the gym of their church but while taking pictures of the ceremony I felt like they were being married on a country porch. It was breathtaking! Then all of the lights strewn from the ceiling it was an awesome transformation of the gym. You really did forget where you were. After they left the church in a mass of bubbles I got to go to Nacogdoches one more time to take their pictures as a couple. It is such an amazing city to take pictures in. The thing I was most happy with, is this is the first wedding where I’ve done a day of slide show. This is where I do some quick editing of the pictures from the day and do a slideshow at the wedding. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off but I was able to.
