I know I’ve said it before but the most expensive weddings are not always the best and this wedding proves that. Sometimes when you talk to a bride and groom and they say that they have a very small budget it can be a little scary. But, when they know where to spend the money and where to not spend the money then you can get a beautiful elegant wedding like this one. As beautiful as the wedding was, my favorite part was their first look at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. The schedule we setup for the Autumn and Jono worked out perfectly and allowed us to get all of these wonderful shots at the gardens. Autumn and Jono are two wonderful people who really have a good handle on their future. They are getting ready to move to Wyoming to help start up a new Church. I know their friends and family are so proud of them for this path that God is leading them on. One day, after they start a family, maybe we can go visit them in Wyoming and take picture of their family at their thriving Church. I hear it’s a beautiful picturesque place.
This was a wedding I’d been looking forward to for a long time and it surely didn’t disappoint. People in other parts of the country probably think that as a Houston Wedding photographer most of our weddings are country, but if you are from here you know this isn’t the case.Devin has been a family friend for so long we consider her family. I even remember the day she met Chase. He was visiting our church with his band for VBS and she noticed him right away and was smitten by him. Their relationship blossomed, he proposed and the rest is history. Their wedding was beautiful and truly one of a kind. The wedding was actually in the gym of their church but while taking pictures of the ceremony I felt like they were being married on a country porch. It was breathtaking! Then all of the lights strewn from the ceiling it was an awesome transformation of the gym. You really did forget where you were. After they left the church in a mass of bubbles I got to go to Nacogdoches one more time to take their pictures as a couple. It is such an amazing city to take pictures in. The thing I was most happy with, is this is the first wedding where I’ve done a day of slide show. This is where I do some quick editing of the pictures from the day and do a slideshow at the wedding. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off but I was able to.
2012 was a good year for Houston Wedding Photographer Moments in Time Photography. We made a few changes and investments towards our future. One of big things we did was re-branded by updating our website and creating a new logo that we absolutely love. This year we only shot 3 weddings but were able to shoot countless family sessions. We are hoping to at least double or triple our weddings in 2013 and are well on our way to accomplishing this goal..
The year started off with the March wedding of Cindy and TJays. I have been able to shoot at Ashton Gardens a few times and it is always a beautiful place.
In April and May I was able to shoot a few Senior portraits in Tomball for some seniors from Magnolia West and Klein High Schools. It’s always great to be able take these pictures before these kids head off to college and and become full fledged adults.
At the end of June we shot Becca and Mark’s wedding at Bentwater Yacht and Country Club. The setting was second to none but it was miserably hot outside. That’s one of the beautiful things about pictures though, after time passes you forget about those types of things but remember the day from the photographs more than anything else.
In August we we were able to shoot at wedding of Leigha and Damon at the historic Trinity Lutheran Church at the Tomball Museum Center in Tomball, TX. The congregation of the Church was formed in 1876 with the construction of the Church completed in 1905. It was an awesome day with an awesome couple.
In October we did our first Bridal show. It was a lot of fun. We haven’t seen the results we were hoping for yet, but it was our first one and learned a lot from it for our next one.
In October and November we had a special for three weekends on family sessions and were able to shoot about nine families. It was a lot of fun. One of them we were able to do was the Fallis family who had just returned days before the shoot from Seoul, Korea with their new adopted son.
This was a beautiful wedding and it was quite serendipitous that I was even a part of it. Being a Houston Wedding Photographer is great in many ways and being a part of a wedding in such an historic building is one of them. I know I have said it in regards to another wedding, but sometimes simple really is better. Me being a part of this wedding actually started when I was photographing another family at the Tomball Museum Center. I got there a little early and there was another photographer taking pictures there as well of a young woman. As they were about to get in their car and go to another location I introduced myself to the other wedding photographer. We started talking and she said that she was actually looking for a second shooter for the wedding of the Bride she was shooting. I told her I was very interested and we exchanged information. We ended up talking and she hired me to second shoot this wedding and I’m so glad she did. The couple was so awesome and down to earth and the day couldn’t have been more beautiful.
Two words can describe this wedding, beautiful and hot! This Bentwater Country Club wedding took place in July and outdoors. It was the first wedding where you could tell the officiant was trying to hurry things along because of the heat. Outside of that, the wedding was beautiful and the setting couldn’t be better.
I love it when I get to shoot a wedding of a friend. I went to high school with Cindy and we’ve been able to keep in touch through the years and when I heard she was getting married I was honored for her to let me be her photographer. I had met her husband one other time briefly and it was great to meet him and spend some time with him. But, who really stole the show was his grandma. She was hands down one of the funniest people I’ve met at a wedding and she loved to dance.
