Houston Wedding Photographer // Autumn + Jono Wedding

I know I’ve said it before but the most expensive weddings are not always the best and this wedding proves that. Sometimes when you talk to a bride and groom and they say that they have a very small budget it can be a little scary. But, when they know where to spend the money and where to not spend the money then you can get a beautiful elegant wedding like this one. As beautiful as the wedding was, my favorite part was their first look at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. The schedule we setup for the Autumn and Jono worked out perfectly and allowed us to get all of these wonderful shots at the gardens. Autumn and Jono are two wonderful people who really have a good handle on their future. They are getting ready to move to Wyoming to help start up a new Church. I know their friends and family are so proud of them for this path that God is leading them on. One day, after they start a family, maybe we can go visit them in Wyoming and take picture of their family at their thriving Church. I hear it’s a beautiful picturesque place.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Autumn’s Bridal Session

I was excited about this bridal shoot because I’ve known Autumn’s fiance a long time but wasn’t able to shoot their engagement pictures. Because of this, this was my first time to really meet and get to know Autumn. She drove all the way from Waxahachie to Tomball to have these done and I think it was worth it. She was so much fun and a little ball of energy. I am amazed with how natural some people are in front of the camera and Autumn was no exception. I think she would have tried anything we would have asked, well anything as long as the dress didn’t get dirty. We actually went to 3 different locations for these shots and all of them turned out great. By far my favorite one was the one with her sitting in the gazebo with her shoes off and her head in her hands. It’s always a compliment when someone tells you that you really captured their personality, which Autumn told me that were able to do that.

Tomball Maternity Session // Amber + Nick

Last weekend I went out and took maternity pictures of my neighbors in Tomball. We’ve been friends for a few years and when we found out Amber was pregnant we knew we wanted to take her maternity pictures. The bad part about maternity pictures is the 6-8 month wait to be able to take them. When we originally scheduled the session we were going to do it a park that we’ve shot at many times. As we looked at different picture ideas and all I told Amber, “I wish we had a nice big field to take your pictures at”. Next thing I knew she said Nick has a friend with a lot of property with fields, fences, a pond and a bridge. They were going to check with them to see if we could use their property and I’m so glad they did. These pictures are by far the favorite maternity session I’ve done. I was happy to be able to capture their personality so well. Usually guys are the hardest to get relaxed and to give a real smile so the triumph of this session was the real smile we were able to capture of Nick.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Devin + Chase Wedding

This was a wedding I’d been looking forward to for a long time and it surely didn’t disappoint. People in other parts of the country probably think that as a Houston Wedding photographer most of our weddings are country, but if you are from here you know this isn’t the case.Devin has been a family friend for so long we consider her family. I even remember the day she met Chase. He was visiting our church with his band for VBS and she noticed him right away and was smitten by him. Their relationship blossomed, he proposed and the rest is history. Their wedding was beautiful and truly one of a kind. The wedding was actually in the gym of their church but while taking pictures of the ceremony I felt like they were being married on a country porch. It was breathtaking! Then all of the lights strewn from the ceiling it was an awesome transformation of the gym. You really did forget where you were. After they left the church in a mass of bubbles I got to go to Nacogdoches one more time to take their pictures as a couple. It is such an amazing city to take pictures in. The thing I was most happy with, is this is the first wedding where I’ve done a day of slide show. This is where I do some quick editing of the pictures from the day and do a slideshow at the wedding. I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off but I was able to.

Houston Wedding Photographer // Devin’s Bridal

As I sit here writing this post up I still have a month until I can actually put this on my blog and that day can’t get here soon enough. This was definitely a one of a kind shoot that will never be duplicated. We started out in Waxahachie, Texas.  It is the oldest city in Texas. It has so many great places in town to take pictures at.  The town square is beautiful! Taking pictures of someone like Devin is always a thrill. I had to give her very little direction and she was so natural in her poses.  After we left the city we took a little trip out of town and that’s when the fun really began.  This was the first time I’ve had to dodge cow patties while following someone in a wedding dress.  This was also the first time I’ve seen a bathtub in the middle of a field. I also had to leave my car behind one time because my car couldn’t go where we were going. All in all it was an awesome day and it was totally worth it for the pictures that we were able to capture.
